Basics of the Find Other Athletes Tool (College)

For information on how to get to the Find Other Athletes Tool, click here.

The purpose of this new tool from AthleteTypes is to make it easy for college coaches to find pre-college athletes that want to make their AthleteTypes results available to college coaches.

In this tool, college coaches will be able to search for pre-college athletes that have taken the TAP assessment and also see those that have attempted to directly share their results with a college coach using the coach’s email address.

Athletes in this database will fall into two categories:

  1. Athletes who have agreed to share their Athlete Type results with ALL college coaches
  2. Athletes that have NOT agreed to share their Athlete Type results with college coaches

Whenever adding an athlete to a team’s database using this method, we will only be adding them into the team’s “Prospects” category, meaning they won’t receive any additional benefits from a team’s subscription plan.

For athletes that have not yet agreed to make their results generally available to college coaches, there will be a blue “Request” button available next to that athlete in the search results.

By clicking this button, AthleteTypes will send a request to the athlete, in order to keep up with NCAA compliance, the athlete will not be informed of the coach or university that is requesting their information.

When your athlete accepts the request, they will be added to your team account and be placed into the Prospects category.

If the athlete has already elected to share their results, you can click the orange “View/Copy” button.

The other way to use this new feature is by viewing athletes who have chosen to share their Athlete Type results with a person directly using one’s email address.

For example, they may do this when they don’t have a team code that allows them to share their results directly to a team’s AthleteTypes account.

Now, one can easily see which athletes have attempted to share their results with a person directly and then decide to add them or decline their request to share with the team.

Whenever adding an athlete to your team database using this method, we will only be adding them into the team’s “Prospects” category, meaning they won’t receive any additional benefits from the team’s subscription plan.
